CLIENT LIKES
Different client has different needs and their own acquire taste. Red Land Design team often comes out with braver design or something different for its client. However due to customer not taking any risk for their own home or commercial site, company has to respect its client by working out design works that been criticize as conventional or some call it boring. Budget is another main factor of affecting the final design work.
By reviewing the pictures of the works done in 2009, Red Land Design has been received different views from public.
But back to the basic question, who are we serving? Client or reviewers or the design team itself?

A FURNITURE shop in Singapore offered a free one-night stand to its customers, reported Nanyang Siang Pau.
It placed an advertisement reading “Free One Night Stand” and next to the eye-catching words was a picture showing a man and a woman in an intimate position.
In the picture, the naked man was hugging a woman from behind and kissing her neck.
A reader who came across the advertisement thought he had something novel, but when he read further, the reader realised it was just a gimmick.
The furniture shop was actually offering a night stand for free to those who bought certain items.

A lot of customers use to ask where is Red land Design showroom. We usually would reply “instead of visit our showroom, why don’t you visit our project site, check out our work quality instead of showroom quality”.
The reason we suggesting this because Red Land Design does not have showroom..yet. Using the word “yet” not because the showroom is coming up sooner or later, but we currently having different perspective in this business but not guarantee the perspective will change one day.
First, we need to keep our cost low. Mainly not due to earn higher profit, but the main reason is we need to keep our price competitive so that our clients can enjoy high quality works with a lower price. A showroom is an image, it is like investing for a company status so we can advertise in a high profile way or invite some journalist from high end ID magazine for interview. For us, that sounds conventional but surely a safe path to succeed in this business. However, Red land Design objective is still the on the clients work itself, not our showroom work. That is our perspective since Red land Design was founded, yet our perspective have not change until today.

Recently there is a project where we removed some of the windows due to renovation. These became unwanted pieces of window glass, we cut it and divided into pieces, spray paint and put it on other part of the wall for decoration. Check this out.

Perhaps when next time you think of throwing any unwanted items, think of ideas to transform it into something cool.

If you’re looking for exquisite and exclusive homes on a prestigious address, look no further. Rimbunan Raya Sdn Bhd introduces The Enclave, exclusive boutique residences on Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah, formerly known as Tiger Lane in Ipoh, the capital city of Perak.
Set on 7.4 acres of leasehold land with a gross development value of RM60 million, The Enclave offers three-storey semi-D and bungalow homes within a gated and guarded community. Modern streetscapes coupled with lush plantings and water features create a relaxed and tranquil environment while the grand entrance brings forth a classy, resort-like ambience to the community.
Concealed main electricity cables with no overhead lines, spacious roads with concealed main drains, coupled with meandering pedestrian walkways create a safe and beautiful environment. A landscaped park with recreational, reflexology and fitness amenities provide hours of outdoor enjoyment for the young and old alike. Clever landscaping ensures privacy and exclusivity for every individual unit without obstructing views of the golfing greens next door.
With the Royal Perak Golf Club as its neighbour, The Enclave enjoys the convenience of amenities within its vicinity. These include private hospitals, international schools, hotels and shopping complexes. Downtown Ipoh is minutes away while the Ipoh airport and New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) toll plaza are reachable via a short 10-minute drive.

The Enclave is an elite haven of 45 exclusive boutique homes comprising Lavie, 16 units of semi-Ds; Lumiere, 25 units of bungalows, and Luxe, another four units of bungalows. The Lavie semi-Ds are sized at 4,450 sqf on 40ft by 85ft plots while the Lumiere bungalows are sized at 5,220 sqf on 50ft by 80ft plots. Meanwhile, the Luxe bungalows come with built-ups of 6,120 sqf on 6,230 sqf plots.
Featuring modern architectural designs and luxurious features, every unit at The Enclave is designed with space and functionality in mind. Full height glass doors allow you to enjoy the lush green views from the living area, which extends out to a timber-decked patio when the glass doors are opened; which in turn reveals a lap pool at the end of the patio.
Take a dip in the pool and cool off during warmer days, or invite some friends over for a pool party. Enjoy soothing views of the shimmering water even with the glass doors closed.
Meanwhile, meal times are a classy affair in the dining rooms that come with double-volume ceiling while master bedrooms are lavish with walk-in-wardrobes.
Safety and privacy have also been taken care of at The Enclave. While the use of clever landscaping brings privacy to each exclusive home, 24-hour guard services and a specially designed security system provide residents with peace of mind. Each unit is also equipped with automatic gate system, centralised solar water heater system and booster pump system.
To be launched in May this year, the development is expected to be completed in early 2011. The Lavie, Lumiere and Luxe homes come with proposed price tags of RM800,000, RM1.5 million and RM2.0 million respectively, with a five per cent Bumiputra discount. 4th January 2010 Professional Client makes First Class Value
Last year, Red Land Design was involving in an unsecured project; means we start designing without asking deposit as confirmation from the client. I take a rough measurement on site, design and present to them. Miss out one part of measurements, I was being teased for not being professional. I was thinking, yes, it is true that we are not being professional enough for not collecting a single cent for the job.
We revise our design few times to satisfy them, after final presentation, they asked a small town carpenter to calculate a cost for their interior works. When they want to save up budget, they decide to save up their original fancy design concept (which we designed), reuse some of old items, refurbish some of it and buy some ready made cheap cabinets. We met again few days later to talk on refurbish old items work and throwing away the previous design concept. The job cost was compared with the small town carpenter instead of a designing firm. Since I would not like to waste the effort done by our design team, I accepted the project with a very low profit to cover expenses. When we finished the work, the real problem begins. The client keeps delaying and drag the final payment more than 2 months.
This case light up my mind. Yes, we should being what we use to be, a professional in one condition… Our client has to be a Professional Client. A professional client criteria includes genuine, sincere, respect designs, appreciate our effort, being firm what they really want and what they can get with their budget. Lastly and important is being gentleman in payment.
A professional client also should not talk about how great or rich they are because it is nothing to do with the way we serve our clients.
If our view, a great client does not need to reward us a million dollar project. Few hundred bucks project could make us proud if they categories as professional clients. This what we call First Class Value.
31st December 2009 We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all our clients for the support throughout 2009.
To the teammate, thank you for being a supportive and bringing the best design for clients.
Thank you and wish we all have a great 2010 ahead!
